| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research focuses on the “new market” with complement and function of market distribution, in order to overcome the problems and limitations of the market distribution that established the global food system so far, its function, role, and significance of existence.
The purpose of this study is to examine the change in urban-rural relationship while clarifying.
In order to approach the purpose, in the four-year research period, we conducted case studies of advanced areas in Japan and abroad, held farmers markets as a demonstration experiment, and presented research at international symposia and international conferences.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の学術的、社会的意義は、以下のとおりである。新しい市と位置づけられる、ファーマーズマーケットは、常設型の店舗や直売所（アメリカではフードハブ）などと併設することが可能で、むしろ併設型の方が、それぞれの役割や機能を補完できる効果が捉えられた。
また、米国におけるフードハブは、日本では農産物直売所に相当すると考えられるが、その役割、位置づけは日米で異なっている。アメリカでは効率性を重視するフードハブでも、コミュニティの再生や食の分配による社会正義等の社会問題に向き合っている一方で、日本の直売所等は、商品としての食の販売に終始している面が否めないことが明らかになった。
