Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Onji is an important crude drug for demantia, and onjisaponins are suggested to contribute for the activity. In the present study, important enzyme genes responsible for onjisaponin biosynthesis in Polygala tenuifolia were examined by transcriptomic analyses based on next generation sequencing techniques. As results, a series of gene candidates responsible for saponin biosynthesis has been identified, and characterized their functions. in conclusion, it has been found that important enzyme genes responsible for onjisaponin biosynthesis.
