Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to develop a bolus-type polymer gel dosimeter that can accurately determine dosimetry in buildup region, which provide uniform dose distribution to the whole breast in tangential whole-breast irradiation. The bolus shaped polymer gel was manufactured by adding agar as a gelling agent and then enclosed in a vinyl film to avoid inhibition of polymerization by oxygen. We also confirmed that by arranging gel bolus by Monte Carlo simulation, the dose distribution near the surface was improved.
