Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study showed treatment plan using computational fluid dynamics considering sleep disorder after SSRO. Computational fluid dynamic was performed under different condition using preoperative and 1 year after surgery in 11 patients with dentofacial deformity. In all condition, delta P increased drastically when minimal cross sectional area of airway was 1 cm2 or less.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

顎変形症患者の治療前後の気道の変化から流体解析を用いたシミュレーションを行い,顎骨の移動距離や方向による呼吸への影響を検討することで,理想的な顎骨の移動に関し呼吸への影響も考慮した治療計画や治療効果予測が可能になると考えている.つまり,本研究により形態だけでなく呼吸機能も考慮した治療が実現できるため,これまで以上に患者ごとに最適な治療法や治療計画の立案が可能となり患者のQOLの向上に寄与すると考えられる.
