Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014) stressed the importance of learning to transforming one's values, behaviour and lifestyles towards a sustainable future. In the area of Climate Change Education (CCE) or Climate Change Learning (CCL) that transformative learning is crucially important. Therefore one needs to transform learning materials as well as lessons and teacher training for CCE and CCL. With this challenge at the core of the study, the research team developed animated films on climate change and analysed lessons with the newly developed animated film, and then investigated new approaches to teacher training. Further, in the final report of the study, it adovocated the importance of whole institution approach.
