メンターによる相談活動と養成研修の評価方法が確立されれば、より体系的なメンタープログラムの開発及び運用が可能となる。メンター研究の成果は、発達障害以外の障害タイプの領域における家族支援研究への応用が可能であり、その意味において、広い意味での家族支援研究のより普遍的な蓄積と発展に寄与するものと考える。
