Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Alloy nanoparticles composed of Pt and Y have attracted much attention for the application to the electrocatalysts in fuel cells. However these particles could be hardly prepared via solution-phase chemical methods, because of considerably negative redox potential of Y. In this study, we tried to prepare PtY alloy nanoparticles using a simultaneous sputtering deposition of Pt and Y in ionic liquids and then evaluated their electrocatalytic activity for oxygen reduction reaction.
