Outline of Final Research Achievements

We tried to identify novel glucagon-related peptides by using affinity chromatography with C-terminal anti-glucagon antibody and mouse plasma samples. However, due to insufficient sample volume, we failed to identify such molecules. Then we are now trying to do it using mouse pancreas or intestine. We also evaluated currently commercially available immunoassays for glucagon by comparing with our newly developed LC/MS/MS system and found that Mercodia sandwich ELISA has much higher correlation with LC/MS/MS compared to conventional RIA.
