Outline of Final Research Achievements

Keratinization is an important process in epidermis, and contribute to barrier function. At present it is not well known about a detail mechanism of keratinization, Mitichondria contiributes various cell maintenance.
In this project, we aimed to unreveal that mechanism. We generated the mice lacking important gene in skin to keep mitochondrial function to analyze the role of mitochondria in keratinization.
