Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We examined immunohisotochmical localization of Wnt signaling molecules in the process of reparative dentin formation after cavity preparation in order to clarify a role of M2 macrophages in the odontoblastic differentiation of pulp cells. At 3 days after cavity preparation, macrophages showed immunoreactivity for Wnt10a and GPR177. At 7 days, localization of b-catenin is seen in nucleus of odontoblasts contacting reparative dentin. These results indicate that canonical Wnt signal plays an important role in reparative dentin formation. Reagents activating canonical Wnt signal might be usuful for new endodontic treatment.
