Outline of Final Research Achievements

We observed the influence of maxillofacial surgery on genome - wide methylation in saliva. Maxillofacial Surgery prior to surgery and 3 months after surgery, saliva of nine patients undergoing maxillofacial surgery and two controls were sampled. Genome-wide DNA methylation profiling was performed using Infinium Human Methylation 450 Beadchips. Significant (P <0.05) DNA methylation changes were observed in more than 10,000 sites between preoperative and postoperative.
