Outline of Final Research Achievements	This study empirically analyzes the determinants of risk taking in regional financial institutions in Japan. This study finds that the corporate governance structure, including ownership form, affects risk-taking behavior in regional financial institutions. This finding is consistent with theories concerning potential agency conflicts between managers and owners.
