Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study examined the relationship between goal conflict about repetitive negative thinking and psychological distress. We examined whether the conflict regarding reasons to worry versus reasons not to worry correlated with worry proneness. As predicted, the degree of personal goal’s interference predicted psychological distress.

メンタルヘルスの向上のためには、持続する心配を緩和させることを目的とした臨床心理学的援助アプローチが求められる。従来の心配への臨床心理学的援助アプローチは、心配の内容に重点を置いたものが多かった。本研究では、心配の内容よりも、個人がその心配に関連して持っている個人的目標に着目した。このことにより、心配にまつわる個人的目標の葛藤に焦点を当てた新たな臨床心理学的援助アプローチの可能性が示唆された。
