Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Puerarin is an isoflavone C-glucoside contained in the roots of Pueraria lobata Ohwi. We previously isolated a human intestinal bacterium, called strain PUE, which can metabolize puerarin to daidzein. In this study, cloning, expression, purification, and characterization of enzymes that cleave puerarin C-glucosidic bond from strain PUE were accomplished.
