Outline of Final Research Achievements

In the present study, to make an attempt to confer a lung-cancer stem cell-selectivity to liposome, we newly prepared folate-modified liposome (FA-modified ssLip), and evaluated the potential as its novel lung-cancer stem cell-selectivity carrier for autophagy induced drug or inhibitor drug. Rapamycin loaded FA-modified ssLip showed the potent antitumor activity in KB cells (FR-α (+)) compared to rapamycin alone and unmodified ssLip. Furthermore, FA-modified ssLip improved retention of indo cyanine green in lung after pulmonary administration to rats. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated the potentials of FA-modified ssLip as a novel lung-cancer stem cell-selectivity carrier for autophagy induced drug and inhibitor drug.
