Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We evaluated the frontal lobe function among three groups, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), typical development (TD). We use simultaneous near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) with multiple neuropsychological batteries of CANTAB and verbal fluency tasks (VFT). ADHD and ASD groups had significantly lower brain activation in left prefrontal cortex during the spatial working memory (SWM) task of CANTAB and the VFT. Our findings suggest that the ADHD group exhibited difficulties in spatial working memory, and that the ASD group exhibited difficulties in verbal fluency.
