Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Bone morphogenetic protein induced ectopic bone formation.However, the detailed mechanism of ectopic bone formation have not been fully understood. We examined the effects of TGF-BETA on bone morphogenetic protein-induced ectopic bone formation using amouse experimental model. HIF-1a mRNA expression levels in ectopic bone tissues at 5 days after implantaion induced by BMP-2 + TGF-BETA was enhanced. Enhancement of bone formation by TGF-BETA was suggested that enhances bone metabolism via expression of HIF-1.
