Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study aimed to identify factors of relieving perceived difficulties in the daily life of patients with depression and providing nursing care for them.
Factors of relieving the perceived difficulties in daily life of patients with depression included self-cognition control, presence of family and being able to self-disclose to them, hours of the day, healthcare services, engaging in some activity, peer support, understanding at the workplace, and nurses casually addressing patients.
Nursing care for relieving perceived difficulties in daily life of patients with depression included providing an environment in which a patient feels at ease, creating an atmosphere where “a nurse is willing to listen when the patient wants to talk about something,” listening attentively, not asking irrelevant questions, identifying the essence, asking to understand more concretely, providing another way of thinking, suggesting “Let’s do it together,” and creating an opportunity.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
