Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We identified 1026 gastric candidate driver genes by genome-wide SB transposon mutagenesis screening in mice. Genes in Wnt signaling and TGF-beta signaling were frequently mutated, showing that SB-induced gastric tumors model human gastric cancers. Comparative analysis for candidate gastric cancer genes between human and mice enriched 258 genes. These genes are very likely to be potent candidate cancer genes in the stomach. Our result will help developing new therapeutic targets to cure gastric cancers.
