Outline of Final Research Achievements |
An archiving system of ALOS/PALSAR images has been developed with an image searching function. Sea surface wind speeds are validated with in situ winds measured in Shirahama and Hiratsuka observation platforms using the archiving system. It is clarified that noises called ambiguities can appear on coastal waters near artificial structures, and lead overeatimated winds. Moreover, it is found that Sentinel-1/SAR can retrieve wind speeds with higher accuracies than ALOS/PALSAR.
