Research Abstract

本研究では時間領域光フーリエ変換(OFT : Optical Fourier Transformation)という新たな無歪み高速光伝送技術を提案し、高速伝送で問題となっていた様々な波形歪みを一括して除去する技術を確立した。特筆すべき成果として、160 Gbit/s-1,000 kmおよび320 Gbit/s-525 kmの長距離超高速伝送が挙げられる。これらは直線路における160〜320 Gbit/s伝送実験としてはいずれも世界最長の伝送距離を実現したものであり、さらにWDM(波長分割多重)と組み合わせることにより320 Gbit/sベースの大容量伝送をも初めて実現した。またこれらと並行して、OFTの性能を向上させるために、パラボラ形状の光パルスと信号光との相互位相変調による理想的な光フーリエ変換を提案し、それを実験により実証した。具体的には、アレイ導波路回折格子を用いた波形整形回路によりパラボラ光パルスを発生させ、これを用いて歪みを受けた信号光パルスに全光フーリエ変換を施した結果、従来の正弦波変調型フーリエ変換では取りきれなかった波形歪みを除去することに成功した。
