Research Abstract

<電子スピンの緩和時間に対する弱磁場による核スピン揺らぎの凍結効果>
時間分解偏光発光分光法により、正孔をドープされたp-InAs量子ドット中の電子スピン緩和を研究し、電子スピン偏極は、光励起後500psでランダムに向いた核スピンとの超微細相互作用により、最初の1/3になるが、わずか100mTの外部磁場の印加により電子スピン緩和時間が4nsになり、ランダムに向いた核スピンとの超微細相互作用による速い電子スピン緩和が抑制される核スピンの揺らぎの凍結する効果を見いだした。
<電子ドープInP量子ドット中のサブミリ秒の電子スピン緩和時間>
電子を1個ドープしたInP量子ドットの発光の円偏光度を計測し、電子のスピン偏極がサブミリ秒からミリ秒に達する間保たれる部分があることを見いだした。チャージチューナブル自己形成InP量子ドットを円偏光ピコ秒レーザーパルスにより準共鳴励起し、ファラディー配置で縦磁場を加え、偏光フォトルミネッセンスおよびその時間分解を系統的に研究した。核スピンの揺らぎの効果を抑えられる0.1Tの縦磁場下で、InP量子ドットの発光帯を円偏光で準共鳴励起すると、励起光エネルギーからストークスシフトが大きいエネルギー領域では、負の円偏光度をもつ発光となる。発光ポンプ・プローブ法を用いた時間分解測定により、負の円偏光度は、数百マイクロ秒の緩和時間で緩和していくことが明らかになった。減衰カーブは単純な指数関数ではないが、少なくとも100μsもの長い時間経過後でも電子スピンは偏極している。その後の研究で電子スピン偏極は1ms程度までたっても一部保たれていることが示された。負の円偏光度は温度や磁場に依存し、磁場の増加、温度の上昇とともに緩和時間が短くなっていくのが明らかとなった。
