Research Abstract

新規BEDT-TTF系電荷移動錯体における電子価数状態とπd相互作用の発現について研究を進めた。
まず前年度に研究を進めたBEDT-TTFが+2価の価数をとる伝導体(BEDT-TTF)Cu_2Br_4について、電界効果、光伝導の測定を試みたが、暗状態ですでに良好な伝導度をもつためか有意な結果は得られなかった。電界効果デバイス、光伝導については、導電性高分子ポリアルキルチオフェンを取り上げた研究を進めた。
今年度は、BEDT-TTF分子とTMTSF分子を半分ずつ繋ぎ合わせた構造をもつDMET分子からなる新規錯体に研究を展開した。まず(DMET)_2CuCl_2を取り上げ、0.8Kでの超伝導転移と磁場誘起SDW転移を見出した。また角度依存磁気抵抗、熱起電力、反射率測定によって移動積分の異方性0.1を得、(DMET)_2CuCl_2が典型的な擬1次元フェルミ面をもつことを示した。
さらに(DMET)_4(MCl_4)(TCE)_2(M=Mn, Co, Cu, Zn)を取り上げた。この物質では単位格子が大きくブリルアンゾーンが半分になるため、擬1次元フェルミ面が折りたたまれ半金属的な電子構造をもつ。M=Mnで25K, M=Coで15K, M=Znで13Kでそれぞれ金属絶縁体転移を示す一方、M=Cuは半導体的な電気伝導性を示す。この金属絶縁体転移の起源とπd相互作用の発現について、電気抵抗、ESR、磁気抵抗測定、反射スペクトル測定により研究を進めた。その結果、M=Co, Znでは、履歴を伴う大きな磁気抵抗を見出し、ESRではM=Mn, Cuにおいてπd相互作用の兆候を見出した。得られた結果から、フェルミ面のネスティングによるSDW転移が金属絶縁体転移の起源であり、M=Mn, Cuではπd相互作用のため電子状態が摂動を受け磁気抵抗が小さくなり、またM=Cuでは半導体的な電気伝導に変化すると考えられることを示した。
