Research Abstract

本特定領域における研究は平成21年度で終了した。そこで本年度においては、平成17年度より5年間に亘って継続してきた研究の全体取り纏めを行い、本領域の成果全体を一冊の業績集に取り纏めた。具体的内容は、総括班における研究推進方策のまとめと、支援班におけるこれまでの活動とその成果を取り纏め、さらに、発足以来、研究項目A01「がん科学のニューフロンティア」において研究に参画してきた研究者の業績をまとめた。本領域の目的は、「がんの体系的理解と個人に最適ながん医療を目指して」をキャッチフレーズとした、がん特定5領域の連携と効率的な運営を目指すとともに、研究全般に必要な支援を行い、がん研究に新しい研究の流れを導入するための研究を推進することであり、「がんの克服」という社会的要請に応えるとともに、がん研究という医学・生命科学の一翼を担う学際的研究を推進することによって我が国の学術的研究の向上・強化にも貢献する、という当初からの目的を如何に達成できたか、に主眼をおいて、成果取り纏めを行った。また、取り纏めに際し、国内外の研究者から助言・評価を受けた。取り纏めた研究成果報告業績集は、全国の関係研究者へ発送した。
