Research Abstract

大型超高圧発生装置を用いた高圧技術、物性測定、放射光X線その場観察実験を結びつけ、特にマントル遷移層領域に対応する高温高圧条件下で、マントルおよびスラブを構成する物質の弾性波速度、電気伝導度、密度、変形挙動などを明らかにした。このような実験データと観測データを対比させることにより、スラブが沈み込む場であるマントル遷移層の化学組成や水の存在量に重要な制約を与えるとともに、スラブ沈降および滞留過程の物質科学的モデルを提示した。
