Research Abstract

本特定領域研究が開始されてから4年が経過したものの、公募研究課題を新規に加えたため、スタートアップ研究打ち合わせ会は十分な研究の準備を行うために6月に開催した。また、研究班ごとに研究打合せ会を実施し、年度の研究成果のまとめを領域全体で行った。具体的な活動の実施内容は以下の通りである。
1)第1回研究打合会(スタートアップ会議)(平成19年6月22〜23日、札幌・KKRホテル札幌)
新規に採択した25件の公募研究課題を併せて、平成19年度の研究計画を議論した。
2)第2回研究打合会(若手研究発表会)(平成19年10月11〜12日、福岡・休暇村志賀島)
90名以上の参加者を得て、若手スタッフおよび大学院生を中心に研究発表を行った。
3)研究成果報告会および第5回公開シンポジウム(平成20年1月30日〜2月2日、東京・東京ガーデンパレス)
4名の評価委員の臨席のもとで、公開シンポジウムならびに非公開の研究成果発表会を行った。
一方、各研究計画班の平成19年度の主な研究計画は昨年度と同様に以下の通りであった。
1)ソフト溶液化学反応を利用したナノ領域での高度な組成、構造の規定によるパノスコピック形態制御を希土類系物質に主として適用し、これにより誘起される高度な高次物性の発現に関する研究を立案し実施した。
2)希土類-鉄属遷移金属系を中心に、パノスコピック形態制御された希土類系物質の系統的な作製と物質相の観察、および高次物性の発現とその発現機構の解明に関する研究を引き続き立案し実施した。
3)希土類イオンを含有したガラス、単結晶、微粒子等を中心に、パノスコピック形態制御された希土類系物質を作製すると共に、レーザ照射等によるガラスの結晶化や希土類イオンの励起を通して、高次光物性の発現とその機能評価に関する研究を立案し実施した。
4)A01、A02およびA03の各研究班で得られた研究成果をもとに、高性能永久磁石、高輝度蛍光体、高性能酸化物イオン導電体としての可能性を明らかにすると共に、これらの高性能アクチュエータ、電波吸収材料、ディスプレイや光源、燃料電池などの実用に向けてのシステム化に関する研究を立案し実施した.
