Research Abstract

19年度は主に以下のようなテーマに絞り研究を行った。
1)高濃度近藤化合物CeAu2Si2の高圧下における電子物性
この物質は層状構造を持ち、約8Kで反強磁性秩序を示す。ネール温度TNは高圧下で消失すると考えられ、より高圧側での電子状態に興味が持たれている。高圧下の近藤効果の実験はスイスのJaccard達により調べられているが、TNやメタ磁性転移磁場B_Mの圧力効果などについての詳細な研究はまだなされていない。更に単結晶を使った精密な電気抵抗測定はその例がない。このようなことから本研究においては3.4GPaまでの圧力範囲で電気抵抗や磁気抵抗を調べた。常圧では反強磁性特有のハンプを示して抵抗は上がり、ピークを作って再び下がりはじめる。この抵抗のハンプは圧力を上げるとはっきりしなくなるが明らかに高温側にシフトしている。このハンプの始まりの温度をネール温度TNと定義し、ピークの温度をTmasと定義する。T_NとTmaxはいずれも加圧により増加し、圧力に対してほぼ同じような振る舞いをする。しかし細かく見るとT_Nは圧力に対して1GPa近傍で異常を示す。この詳細な理由は今のところよく分かっていないが磁気構造の異常によるものと思われる。常圧下における磁気抵抗効果は磁場がそれぞれa軸、c軸に平行な場合に対して大きな異方性を示した。c軸に平行な場合は約4T(=B_M)でメタ磁性転移による不連続な飛びを示す。圧力効果については低圧でははっきりと見えていた転移が高圧下ではかなり不鮮明になり、更にB_Mは加圧とともに増加する事が明らかとなった。この増加はT_Nの加圧による増加と熱力学的によく対応している。
2)反強磁性化合物CeIn3の高圧合成
Ceの特異な圧力-温度相図を使って磁気秩序を示す重い電子系化合物CeIn3の高圧合成を行った。これまでは高圧合成により磁気秩序を示さない化合物の合成に成功しており、またこの化合物の成長が冷却速過程によることを明らかにした。今回更に作製条件を明らかにするため冷却速度の最適化を図った。その結果作製直後は反強磁性を示さない試料が約一週間後に測定してみると磁気秩序を示すことが分かった。即ちこれらの試料は結晶学的に不安定状態で出来ており、経時変化を示すことが明らかとなった。今後より詳細な作製条件を突き止めていく。
