Research Abstract

ネットワーク上での対立問題をアルゴリズムの観点から研究し、計算困難性・近似困難性のより良い下界と上界を得ることが本研究の目的である。このような対立問題は、NP-困難な組合せ最適化問題であり、整数計画問題として定式化できるものが多い。したがって、近似アルゴリズムの理論が強力な道具である。
以上を踏まえて、以下の研究計画に基づいて研究を実行した。
1.社会的効用の最適化と利己的な各利用者の納得できる個人的効用の達成という対立問題の生じる実際の具体例とこれまでの研究を調査し、分類・整理・検討した。さらに、ゲーム理論や社会学、経済学で扱われている全体と個の対立問題のNash均衡に基づく理論的研究を調査し、分類・整理・検討した。
2.本研究には近似アルゴリズムの設計と解析の技法が有効であることが既に知られている。そこで、上記の調査においては、高性能近似アルゴリズムの分野で最先端の研究をしている内外の研究者と情報およびアイデアを交換した。
3.1,2の研究調査で得られた対立問題に対して、近似アルゴリズム、グラフ理論、計算幾何学の観点から研究し、近似アルゴリズムの設計と解析の技法の有効性を検討し分類整理した。さらに、計算困難性、近似困難性のより良い下界と上界を提案した。また、得られた上界(提案したアルゴリズム)に対して、その有効性を大規模な実物データで計算機実験を通して実証した。そして、得られた成果を内外の学会・論文誌で発表した。
