Research Abstract |
This study was planed to develop simulation systems for dental training and evaluation systems of dental treatment posture, handling dental equipment, treatment results automatically and to make or improve educational methods and aids. 1. Artificial tooth for restoration training was developed by way of trial and tested at several dental schools. 2. Evaluations of inlay cavity by the three-dimensional measurement system and by instructors were compared in pre clinical training. 3. On introduction of a NiTi rotary file into endodontic training, the training using conventional demonstration method or group discussion of a problem-based learning(PBL) form were performed, aiming for development of a training education method and examination of utility of PBL. Then, difference of the education effects between both methods were inspected. 4. About dental treatment posture training and evaluation system, improving evaluation program, it was remodeled to give a learner information by real time. 5. The device which monitor, record and feed back root canal instrumentations in basic endodontic training was developed. 6. A system for simulation education about positioning, choice of a scaler, choice of the working end in periodontal training was developed. 7. Healing processes of periodontal treatment and endodontic treatment was picturized in dynamic graphics and lecture was given with the image. Then the education effect was examined. 8. HTML atlas of periodontal surgery using movies in which require attention of each step of an operation and actions to be taken for a trouble were described was made. A comparison between the periodontal trainings using a conventional model and training by this atlas was performed and evaluated.
