| Research Abstract |
In this research project, we examined the various theories and methods of historical sociology, and discussed how to best apply the resultant knowledge within the sphere of research and education.
Firstly, it became clear that the construction of data and the structure of research materials is the key issue in the studies of historical sociology. Especially, to build a bridge over the unclearly established distance between history and sociology, the reexamination of the technological development in social research methodology proved to be essential.
Secondly, we uncovered new research fields from the pilot studies of this project. One of them, is the importance of pictorial database of questionnaires, and we undertook to construct it. And we also set about the listing of the practices of social research from the commencement of the 1900' s.
Thirdly, we confirmed the significance of editing the source book of historical sociology, and discussed the necessary components and a fundamental structure of the textbook.
