Research Abstract |
As small fishing boats usually utilize big scale fishing gears or cultivation equipments compared with the ship scale, ship motions are influenced by the external forces generated under the fishing. This is really dangerous for seakeeping quality of small fishing boat without sufficient stability. To improve such condition, we have confronted the development of mooring device for the fishing operation. Based on the model tests in regular waves, the effectiveness of mooring device built in the buffer material that discharges the impact energy was become clear for motion reduction on the long period waves under serious sea condition. Then mooring device for fishing work in the scallop cultivation fishing boat was developed by the use of hydraulic damper equipped with lots of orifices which transforms impulse energy into heat energy and spring to balance stationary mooring load due to the cultivation facilities. As about 10-20% of reduction effect for the rolling motion is attained in the range of long wave length, safety under the fishing operation for marine accidents is notably improved. This device is simple construction and light-weight because there is not complicated control system which was contained in the planning stage. As the result, cost performance is excellent and maintenance is lightened up. Then, it is adequate for fishing work under hard working environment.
