Research Abstract

We took palatal mucosa and vestibule mucosa of SD rat and got fibroblasts with outgrowth method. Fibroblast, originated from attached gingiva, was injected under buccal mucosa. Accordingly buccal mucosa was reacted and turned its behavior to keratinized mucosa. But a part of mucosa formed like a scar tissue. We think this phenomenon will contribute for the treatment of enhancing attached gingiva for the dental implant. Now we are examining the method of attached gingival acquisition without scar formation.
We are using fibroblast originated from fetal palatal mucosa and injected in the free gingiva of Nude Rat. This concept derives from the fact that fatal wound repair proceeds without scar formation. In addition we examined the expression of Hsp47 and collagen in the morphological transformation mucosa using immunohistochemical and molecular biological methods, the amount of both proteins increased around the place of injected fibroblast originated from attached gingiva but some area formed scar tissue.
We are also under consideration about exchanges of information between periosteum and cell transplantation.
