Research Abstract

In Heisei 18, which was the third and last academic year of the project : A study on compensating information transmission in the higher and vocational educations for hearing impaired persons, the following research schemes were executed.
A field survey on the compensating information transmission at the work site:
1) The questionnaires which consisted of 13 items printed on four pages of A4 sheets were sent out and collected for detailed analysis of the answers. The subjects were the adult hearing impaired persons who belonged to the hearing impairment groups and alumni associations of schools for the deaf, 1,050 in total.
2) Results of the analysis were compiled into a report which is useful for the persons involved in the compensating information transmission in the work site.
A study on on the electronic dictionary of Japanese sign language :
3) The electronic dictionary of Japanese sign language which was edited in Heisei 16 academic year was put into trial use, and necessary revisions were made. The dictionary was demonstrated at the symposiums and exhibitions in the area of technical aids for hearing impairments.
