新星の超エディントン光度の理論的解明と標準光源の確立

Research Abstract

本年度は光星の光度曲線の理論を確立した。まず可視光や赤外線など長波長では、光球のすぐ外のプラズマから放出される自由-自由遷移により放射を私のoptically thide wind理論を用いて計算した。横軸を対数でとりと、白色矮星の重さや波長によらいない普遍則があることがわかった。ただしx線や紫外線の光度曲線は光球からの異体輪射でわれによく近似できる。この普遍則は折れ曲がりのをあらわすパラメタ1つで体系化できる。この理論をいくつかほ新星の光度曲線と詳しく合わせることにより、精密に連星にパラメタを決定することができることを示した。これまでの研究の総まとめとも言える。
また、2006年2月にへびつかい度RS星が20年ぶりに爆発した。今回は日本の観測グループを組織して緻密なy光度曲線を得ることに成功した。これはガス円盤の存在をはっきり示している。そこで白色矮星に照らされたガス円盤と伴星を含むモデルを計算し、光度曲線を合わせることにより、この星がI_a型超新星への迄すじの王期に位置することを示した。また今回はじめて軟X線の光度曲線が得られたのでそのモデル計算も行った。軟x線が長く続くことは、白色矮星の上にヘリウム層がつもっていることそ示していることがわかった。つまりこの星はIa型超新星の親天体である。
さらに昨年にひきつづき、超エディユトン光度の理論研究をすすめることができた。観測データのそろった5つの古典新星につき、吸収係数の減少を考慮した光度曲線モデルを計算し、新星のピークを再現することに成功した
