Research Abstract |
(1)The maintenance plays an important role for the performance assurance of concrete structures. The concept of assurance to maintain a required performance during the required service period by uniting the design and construction with the maintenance, and synchronizing, was proposed. (2)The deterioration models of concrete for chemical attack and chloride attack were verified based on the monitoring of specimen. (3)In order to evaluate the performance of members with chemical induced deterioration and chloride induced deterioration, both experimental and analytical approaches were performed. (4)On the deteriorated concrete bridge, Monte Carlo simulation of FEM analysis was performed to evaluate the probabilistic model of the performance. (5)The methodology of reliability analysis for RC bridges considering the special distribution of corrosion of steel bars by means of Fourier series, was proposed. (6)The condition rating method on RC bridges with chloride induced deterioration was investigated, and the methodology based on the questionnaire results, and the update method by using the inspection results. (7)The concept of optimal strengthening and accurate analysis method were proposed by combination of repair and strengthening. (8)The Bridge Management System technology was applied to an actual bridge and discussed the method of planning of maintenance.
