Research Abstract |
HCII+/- mice we generated had about 60% of plasma HCII activity. Cuff placement around femoral artery for 4 weeks caused prominent neointimal and adventitial hyperplasia with augmented expression of protease-activated receptor 1 in HCII+/- mice compared with HCII+/+ mice. These exacerbated vascular remodeling was ameliorated to similar level as HCII+/+ mice by administration of purified human HCII protein.
