Research Abstract

全高分子フォトニックレーザーを目指し、コレステリック液晶高分子膜を用いたをさまざまなレーザー構造を構築し、レーザー発振特性を観測した。特に、低しきい値化を目指し、多層化、欠陥モードの導入などを試みた。論文3,4)では分布帰還形レーザー素子の片面あるいは両面に励起光、および発光を反射するコレステリックミラーを配し、低しきい値化を達成した。また、論文2,5)では厚い欠陥層を導入し、複屈折による新規な構造を見出し、その波長での発振を観測した。この構造は電場印加によりチューニング可能であるため、電場により波長可変のレーザーとして応用できる。論文1)ではネマチック液晶をコレステリック液晶ではさんだ構造を作製し、光ダイオード効果を見出した。電場印加によるネマチック液晶の配向変化を利用すると電場変調可能な光ダイオードとして使用できる。論文6)では欠陥モードをエッジモードと一致させることにより状態密度を飛躍的に増大できることを示し、その波長における発振は顕著な低しきい値化を達成しうることを実験的に明らかにした。
