Research Abstract

1.電界吸収型光変調器を用いた光アナログ-ディジタル変換技術の研究
パルス数のハンドリング技術は光アナログ-ディジタル(A/D)変換の基盤技術として重要である。本年は、電界吸収型光変調器(EAM)を用いた光A/D変換法の提案とその原理確認実験を行った。
まず、印加したアナログ電気信号の電圧振幅に依存してEAMのスペクトル吸収端が変化する現象を用い、スーパーコンティニューム(SC)光発生によって広がったスペクトルをEAMでフィルタリングする。このことにより、アナログ信号の振幅がスペクトル広がりの幅に変換される。次に、広がったスペクトルをアレイ導波路形回折格子(AWG)を用いてスライスし、アナログ信号の振幅に依存した数のパルスを得る。このような動作原理に基づき、2ビット光量子化の原理確認実験を行った。実験結果より、光ファイバの非線形性を用いたSC光発生現象と印加電圧の振幅によってEAMの吸収端が変化する現象を利用することにより、出力パルス数の操作が実現できることを確認し、提案方法の妥当性を示した。
2.ソリトン自己周波数シフトとスーパーコンティニューム光のスペクトルスライスを用いた光可変遅延線の研究
「光バッファ」の実現には、信号光パルスの遅延時間を制御する「光可変遅延線」を実現する必要がある。また、全光A/DおよびD/A変換器の入出力ポートにおけるタイミング調整にも「光可変遅延線」が必要である。本年は、光ファイバ中を伝搬するソリトンの自己周波数シフト(SSFS)とSC光のスペクトルスライスを用いた光可変遅延線を提案し、原理確認実験を行った。ソリトンを用いることにより、原理的に波形歪みの小さい遅延線を実現することができる。実験結果より、光ファイバの非線形性を利用したSSFSとSC光発生現象を用いることにより出力パルスの時間遅延量の操作が実現できることを確認し、提案方法の妥当性を示した。
