Research Abstract

平成16-17年度の成果に基づき,ともに同心円状に3分割されたイオン源及び電子源を用いて,磁力線平行方向フロー速度シアに垂直方向フロー速度シアを制御しながら重畳することによって,これらの速度シアに起因するドリフト波不安定性の特性を詳細に調べた.また,これまでのカリウム正イオンプラズマに対して,異極性の負イオンを生成する六フッ化硫黄,及び同極性異質量の正イオンを生成するセシウムを導入し,速度シア駆動ドリフト波不安定性に対するハイブリッドイオン導入の効果を調べた.
1.カリウム正イオンプラズマ中の平行シア存在下で励起された方位角方向モード数m=3のドリフト波が,垂直シア強度の増加によって周波数スペクトルが広帯域化した後,m=2のドリフト波へと遷移することが明らかとなった.乱流遷移との関連を含めて理論的な解析を進めている.一方,平行シア強度の増加に対しては,垂直シアにより決定されたモード数を維持しながら一度揺動が成長し,あるシア強度で最大値を示した後,抑制されることがわかった.さらに,m=2のドリフト波が,m=3のドリフト波に比べて励起させるために強い平行シアが必要であることがわかり,理論的に求めた成長率と定性的に一致する傾向を得た.
2.カリウム正イオンプラズマ中に六フッ化硫黄負イオンを導入したところ,負イオン交換率(n_-/n_+)が10%を超える領域においては,さらなる負イオンの導入が平行シア駆動ドリフト波の成長率を減少させることを初めて実験的に観測した.さらに,負イオン交換率が50%を超えると,波動は完全に抑制され,プラズマが安定化することを観測した.
3.カリウム正イオンプラズマ中にセシウム正イオンを導入し,それらの密度比を制御して速度シア駆動ドリフト波に対する効果を調べた.まず,カリウムのみ及びセシウムのみのプラズマ中でドリフト波に対するそれぞれのシア強度依存性を調べたところ,揺動強度が最大になるシア強度がイオン種によって異なることが明らかになった.これらのイオンを重畳させたところ,カリウムのみ,およびセシウムのみのプラズマの場合とは異なり,速度シア強度への依存性が小さくなり,広いシア強度の範囲で比較的弱い揺動強度のドリフト波が励起されることが分かった.すなわち,それぞれのイオンに起因するドリフト波の分散関係が結合して,新たなモードが励起された可能性がある.
