Research Abstract

申請者はこれまで、キラルな化合物をプローブ分子として用いることで、これまで解析が不可能であった光反応などの反応機構の解明に取り組んできた。昨年度まではこのような研究の流れの中で、基底状態でのキラリティー(円二色性)が、実は極めて複雑で、これまで提唱されてきたような経験則が成立しない種々のケースがあり、特に、弱い相互作用の関与する系に率いては再考を要するという実験結果を報告してきたが、本年度はこの原因を究明すべく、電子遷移の理論計算(主にTD-DT計算)を用いた検討を行った。
主なターゲットとしてはCT錯体のモデル化合物の一例として、電荷移動相互作用を有するシクロファン(CTシクロファン)、ならびにその自由度が高まったキラルCT-dyadなどを選択し、これらの理論計算による解析を行った。なお、これらの化合物の実験CDスペクトルは既に昨年までの結果として、J.Am.Chem.Soc.誌、Angew.Chem.Int.Ed.誌に(一部)報告済みのものである。理論CDの計算に先立ち、構造最適化を様々な基底関数、Functionalで検討した。詳細は省くが、Dispersionの項を経験的に補正したDFT-D計算が、このような系の構造最適化に必要、不可欠であることが明らかとなった。また、コンフォマー分布の決定にはSCS-MP2エネルギーをボルツマン分布させることで極めて正確に予測可能であった。さらに、体系的な検討を重ね、結果、Exact Excha ng eの寄与率の高いBH-LYP関数が理論CDの計算に最適であることが明らかとなり、このような結果は、類似のキラル化合物の計算にきわめて重要な知見と考え、有機化学者の間でもっとも定評のあるJ.Org.Chem.誌のFull Paperとして公表した。
