Research Abstract

本年度はMMX錯体と称される一群の一次元多核遷移金属錯体についての量子化学計算を実行し、その電子状態の可能性について考察した。具体的には、Ni_2(dta)_4IおよびPt_2(dta)_4I錯体の内部構造と電子状態の関係をクラスターモデルを用いて行った。一般的にPtを使った錯体では、鎖内構造にバリエーションが見られるが、Niを使った錯体ではAVSDW構造と呼ばれる構造しか見つかっていない。そこで、理論計算を用いて他の構造の可能性を探った。その結果、Ni錯体ではAVSDW状態しか安定点が存在しないが、Pt錯体では複数の安定点が見つかり、実験を上手く説明できる結果が得られた。この結果は国内外の学会にて発表し、論文を出版した(印刷中)。
上記研究に加え、錯体などの電子状態解析に必須な、構造最適化手法の開発を行った。これにより、少ない計算機資源で精度の高い構造予測を可能とした。こちらも国内外の学会で発表し、論文を投稿中である。また、生体内に見られる多核遷移金属クラスターの電子状態が周辺の化学環境にどのような影響を受けるかを解析した。
これら一連の研究は、実在系の構造をクラスターモデルに簡約化し、配位子等も含めた大規模量子化学計算を行い、金属イオン種や配位子種などの効果を微視的な視点から明らかにしてゆくというものである。特に、磁気的な相互作用に着目し系統的に研究を行っている点が、世界的にもオリジナルである。
