Research Abstract

表面や界面などのナノスケール微小領域における磁気的性質の解明は基礎科学分野のみならず磁気産業分野でも重要な課題である。本研究では、原子間(interatomicノンコリニア磁性)のみならず1個の原子内でも磁化軸の方向が異なるintra-atomicノンコリニア磁性を考慮した第一原理FLAPW(Full potential linearized augmented plane wave)法を用いて以下の理論的解析を行った。
(1)強磁性体/反強磁性体界面におけるノンコリニア磁性
ハーフメタル強磁性体を用いた交換バイアス材料を理論的な立場から予測するために、閃亜鉛鉱型構造を有する遷移金属プニクタイドおよびカルコゲナイドの電子構造と磁気構造を系統的に調べ、CrSe/MnSe及びCrTe/MnTeが有力な交換バイアス材料の候補であることを提案した。また、結晶成長に伴う正方歪を考慮した場合のCrSe/MnSe及びCrTe/MnTe界面の電子構造及び磁気構造を解析した。
(2)強磁性体薄膜のスピン・スパイラル構造の解析
磁壁構造に類似するスピン・スパイラル構造に注目し、Fe(110)単層薄膜におけるノンコリニア磁気構造の安定性を調べた。薄膜の格子定数をバルクFeの格子定数aに仮定した場合、波数q=0.14/aのスピン・スパイラル構造が安定になること、この安定化は二次元フェルミ面におけるネスティング構造に起因することを明らかにした。また、この波数の1/4波長は先に計算した磁壁幅にほぼ対応することがわかった。
