Research Abstract

共役(高)分子材料の本質的電気伝導度に関する知見を得るため、マイクロ波による電極レス電気伝導度測定を行い、共役材料中のナノメータースケールでの電荷キャリアのダイナミクスに関する研究を行った。有機低分子薄膜トランジスタ材料として近年特に注目を集めているペンタセン薄膜においてもTRMC測定を行った。疎水処理したものと未処理(親水性)の石英基板にペンタセンを熱蒸着し、厚さ約100nmの薄膜を作成した。照射源にはArFエキシマーレーザーからの193nmのナノ秒パルスを用いた。疎水処理によりグレインサイズが増大していることが原子間力顕微鏡で観測され、これに伴い、ホールのグレイン間での移動と電荷再結合が加速された。マイクロ波伝導度測定でのピークでの値から0.7cm^2/Vs以上という高い電荷移動度が得られ、π・σ共役高分子だけでなく低分子有機薄膜でも高性能な電気特性を持つことが示された。また、AC伝導度を議論するうえで重要な、伝導度の実部と虚部について実験的に分離する手法を開発した。この手法によって得られる伝導度の実部と虚部については、電荷の衝突頻度、運動可能領域などの情報に密接な相関があり、様々な材料・系を測定する上で重要となる。また、電子受容体でラミネートされたナノチューブのマイクロ波伝導度測定を行い、この材料が高効率な光伝導度を持つことを示した。マイクロ波伝導度測定の特性を活用し、ナノチューブの非等方的な伝導度を測定することに成功し、分子間スタックがそろっている方向に電気が流れやすいことを実験的に示すことができた。
