臭素系難燃剤PBDEによる日本沿岸漂着鯨類の汚染とその影響に関する研究

Research Abstract

1)鯨類における残留性有機汚染物質蓄積
本研究では、2005年2月、北海道目梨郡羅臼町相泊で流氷に閉じ込められ集団座礁したシャチを対象に、臭素系難燃剤PBDEsおよびダイオキシン類を含む有機塩素化合物による汚染の実態および蓄積特性の解明を試みた。分析に供した全てのシャチの脂皮から有機塩素化合物が検出された。DDTsの濃度が最も高く、次いでPCBsの高濃度残留が確認された。PBDEsも全ての個体から検出され、その濃度はPCBsやDDTsより2〜3桁低い値を示した。PCDDsとPCDFsの蓄積濃度はきわめて低く、多くの異性体が検出限界値以下であった。ダイオキシン類の毒性等量(TEQ)を算出したところ、総TEQの75〜98%をモノオルソコプラナPCBsが占めていたことから、ダイオキシン類によるシャチのリスクを考える際は、PCDD/FsよりコプラナPCBsの評価が重要であると考えられた。
2)PBDEsの母子間移行
1982〜2002年に日本沿岸に集団座礁したカズハゴンドウの有機ハロゲン化合物(有機塩素化合物およびPBDEs)汚染の実態を調査した。また、これらの物質の蓄積に関与する性や成長などの生物学的パラメータについて解析した。化学分析の結果、メスから検出されたPCBs濃度はオスの約1/10であったのに対し、PBDEs濃度は約1/5とその差が小さいことが示された。このことからPBDEsは既存の有機塩素化合物よりも母子間移行しにくい、または取り込み量の多いことが示唆された。さらに、出生体長に達した胎児と母親のペア2組について胎盤を介した有機ハロゲン化合物の移行率を見積もったところ、HCHsの移行率が最も高く(5.8%)、TCPMeは最も小さい割合(0.88%)を示した。PBDEsに関しては、母親の体内負荷量の約3%が胎児に移行していた。さらに、PCBsとPBDEsの場合、塩素および臭素の置換数の多い異性体ほど胎児への移行率は低いことが明らかとなり、分子量の大きい化学物質ほど胎盤のバリアを通過しにくいものと考えられた。以上の結果より、胎盤を介した有機ハロゲン化合物の移行率は0.88-5.8%と小さく、有機ハロゲン化合物の相当量は授乳を介して乳仔に移行していると考えられた。
