Outline of Annual Research Achievements

近年に,南米および日本で発生した地震・津波災害の解析を行い,以下の成果を得た.

まず,2017年9月に発生したメキシコ中部地震(Mw8.2)による津波の解析を行い.沿岸・沖合の津波観測データの逆解析から,波源の推定を行った.その結果,断層破壊域は240km×90kmにおよび,最大の断層滑りは6mに及ぶことが明らかになった.この解析結果により,断層破壊の不均一性について,最も大きな破壊域(すべり量6m)は断層面のほぼ中央に位置し,次に大きな破壊域(すべり量5.5m)は北西端に位置することが判明した.これらの結果から,観測データをリアルタイムで解析して断層破壊メカニズムを明らかにすることで,特に我が国に来襲しうる津波の解析の高度化に有用であることが分かった.

次に,地震,津波,洪水等による都市域の被災状況を早期に把握するリモートセンシング技術の確立に向け,特に建物被害の量的把握を目的とした機械学習法の検討を行った.様々なセンサによる被害把握結果を早期に開示することで,災害対応における被害把握の迅速化・効率化,復旧過程における正確な被災マップの提供に向けたケーススタディを行った.具体的には,2017年に発生したメキシコ地震(Mw7.1)と2016年熊本地震の建物被害把握について,リモートセンシングデータを分析した.JAXAが観測したALOS-2 PALSAR-2画像を使用し,合成開口レーダーの後方散乱強度の解析から,建物被害状況を把握した.その結果,Lバンド合成開口レーダーを利用した場合,約70%の精度で建物被害地図を作成できることを実証した.
