Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2008年四川省で発生した大地震(M8)は、観測史上例のない大規模土砂災害が誘発され、崩壊土石が移動距離1000m以上の大規模崩壊が数多く発生し、甚大な被害をもたらした。一方、平成13年実施された「土砂災害防止法」では、土砂災害警戒区域は、急傾斜地の下端から最大50m以内、地滑り区域下端から最大250mの範囲内の区域と定められ、土砂災害対策計画がそれに基づいて作成されていた。地震による土砂災害は対応されていないことが明らかであり、大地震による土砂災害リスクの予測と評価が非常に重要である。
本研究では、地震による崩壊土石の遠距離移動メカニズムに関する理論根拠の構築や、崩壊土石の遠距離移動時に地震波動特性、地質特性、地形特性の解明、高度な数値シミュレーション技術の開発による斜面災害リスクの評価手法の確立等を目指す。そのために、受入研究者が「多重加速モデル」という新しいモデルを提案し、振動台モデル実験と数値シミュレーションを行い、高速・遠距離移動現象の解明に関する研究を行ってきた。その研究成果に基づき、崩壊土石の遠距離移動に必要な初期速度の発生メカニズムに関する破壊理論や地震波による動摩擦の低減メカニズムを考慮した新数値シミュレーション手法を確立するために、外国人特別研究員と以下の共同研究を行った。
1)受入研究者が提案した「多重加速モデル」と候補者が提案した非線形破壊モデルを組み合わせて、崩壊土石の遠距離移動メカニズムに関する理論を構築した。
2)受け入れ研究者が開発した不連続変形法DDAに候補者が提案した多点接触ばねモデルを取り入れて、地震による崩壊土石の大きな初期速度・低運動摩擦の発生機構と改良数値シミュレーション技術を確立した。
3)地震による崩壊土石の遠距離運動メカニズムの解明結果に基づき、崩壊土石の高速・遠距離移動に必要な地震動や地盤条件を特定した。
