Outline of Annual Research Achievements

各種野菜・果樹、麦類などの主要作物に大きな被害を及ぼすウドンコカビは温帯起源の植物寄生菌で、熱帯地域へ分布を広げ各種熱帯果樹類、野菜類に被害を与えている。しかし,アジア熱帯地域では研究者不足,分類に必要な有性世代を形成しないことなどから、種類等はほとんど明らかになっていない。また、熱帯地域のうどんこ病菌は温帯では見られなかった生態を持つことが示唆されており、熱帯地域への適応進化を探ることは本病を防ぐ意味でも重要である。本研究は以下の2点について実施する。1)分子系統および形態観察によりアジア(亜)熱帯地域に分布するウドンコカビの種多様性を明らかにし、主要作物に寄生するウドンコカビの種類を解明する。2)広い範囲の熱帯果樹・樹木類に同種のウドンコカビが寄生する可能性が示された。これは防除のための疫学研究に重要であり、多くの熱帯果樹のウドンコカビを網羅的に調査し、分類的位置および相互感染性の有無を解明する。平成29年度は前年度にタイおよびインドネシアで採集した135標本について、詳細な形態観察およびDNAシークエンス解析により菌種の同定を行い、アジア熱帯・亜熱帯地域におけるうどんこ病菌フロラの解明を行った。その結果、1新属6新種を含む47種のうどんこ病菌および14の新宿主記録を発見した。これらの研究成果は菌学関係の国際専門誌に13編の研究論文として公表された。これらの成果は熱帯アジアにおけるうどんこ病防除のための基礎資料として重要である。
