Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Improved processing time and accuracy of the muon fitter. It was found that a full muon fitter was needed to search for spallation neutrons. This fitter will allow the localisation of muon-induced showers that produce the neutrons. Localisation reduces the otherwise large backgrounds to managable levels. Updated electronics and optical models in the Geant4 simulation to reflect the upgrade from ATM to QBEE boards. Assisted in evaluating photo-spectrometers for gadolinium concentration measurement system being developed at Queen Mary University of London Participated in SK tank open work.
