| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we performed multi-omics analysis in the birth cohort study, C-MACH. Our data showed that polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) exposure affected maternal and fetal metabolomic profiles. The effects of maternal factors including environmental chemical exposure during pregnancy. These results contribute to clarify the mechanism of environmental pollutants on human health.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究課題は、妊娠中の母親の状態が子供にどのような影響を与えるのかという疑問に近年可能となった複数の方法を用いて答えることを試みた。その結果、環境中の汚染物質であるPCBが子供と母親の代謝状態に与える影響が明らかとなった。この結果は、現在においても環境中のPCBを減らす必要があることを示すとともにその悪影響を減らすための方法の端緒を示唆するものと考えられる。
