Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は,バンドギャップレスな半金属的性質を有するグラフェンを中心として,h-BN等の絶縁体やMoS2等の遷移金属ジカルコゲナイド半導体とのvan der Waals接合からなる二次元原子薄膜ヘテロ接合材料をプラットフォームとして,量子効果やプラズモニック効果などの二次元原子薄膜ヘテロ接合系に特徴付けられた電子・フォトン・プラズモン・フォノンが関わる複合量子系に現れる物理現象を動作機構として新たに導入し,テラヘルツ波領域での増幅・発振・検出等の信号処理機能を,従来の材料・物理機構が果たし得なかった極めて高いエネルギー効率で実現し得るデバイスを創出することを目的として策定した。初年度は,(1)当該の基本構造(G-DGL)をプラットフォームとして構築すること,(2)G-DGLの従来型素子に対する性能優位性の明確化,(3)プラズモン&フォトンアシスト二重共鳴現象の発現とそのテラヘルツ放射能・検出能の向上に挑戦を計画した。しかし,基盤研究(S)に採択されたため,5月末日をもって研究を終了することとなり,課題(1)の途中までの進捗に留まった。なお,今後は,採択された基盤研究(S)の課題としてより大きな枠組みで継続推進しており,一層発展・展開する予定である。
